Newsgroups: comp.security.misc,comp.security.pgp.discuss,sci.crypt Subject: ANN: Self-restoring encrypted archives Date: Tues, 30 Mar 1999 Announcement ============ Stevenage, Herts - Kwik-Rite Development has today released the first public beta of Kwik-Crypt (development announced on 11 March 1999) - an encrypting/compressing archive utility. Kwik-Crypt produces a multi-file compressed archive encrypted with Blowfish using an SHA-1 password hash. The file format is extensible and other algorithms may be implemented in due course. Users can either distribute just the archive file or Kwik-Crypt can create a self-restoring file that when run on a target machine will decompress and decrypt each file. The most important part of the announcement, Kwik-Crypt is released as Freeware and will have full Delphi 4 source code posted after beta-testing is complete. Sam Simpson is providing advice on the cryptographic elements of the program. Another announcement will be made when the product is fully released.
